Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on our existing reputation and client base and will be encouraged to reach their full potential with chances provided to strive across all aspects of inter-partes work and within the Inter-Partes department as a whole. We are looking for experienced Costs Lawyers and Costs Draftspeople with over two years’ experience of dealing with a complex and varied IP case load. Some legal aid experience is preferable as some of the case load will consist of legal aid funded cases with Inter-Partes costs orders.
The primary role will include tasks such as:
- Preparation of 3 and 6 column bills of costs, costs subject to budgets and electronic bills of costs (Precedent S);
- Preparation of costs budgets, Precedent Rs and associated documents;
- Drafting of costs pleadings, Points of Dispute and Points of Reply;
- Costs Negotiations;
- Advice to clients on all aspects of inter-partes costs;
- Advocacy experience is preferable but not essential and training and opportunities will be offered for willing candidates.
In addition to day-to-day responsibilities opportunities to grow the firm will be offered by:
- Providing training to clients and potential clients throughout the UK;
- Attending meetings with clients and prospective clients;
- Assisting with marketing campaigns and events
